Hey There!

My name is Sara Childers! I am a holistic registered dietitian nutritionist and owner of Sara Childers Nutrition, LLC, which is my private practice, where I specialize in seeing women with hormonal imbalances, fertility, thyroid, gut, and autoimmune issues. 

My journey with the metabolism began with my own health. Since my early teens, I had struggled with acne and hypothalamic amenorrhea (constant missed periods caused by over-exercise and under-eating). This quickly turned into anxiety from hypoglycemia in my college years, not to mention the mental and nutritional tole that overtook my body when taking a hormonal contraceptive for years to make my periods "come back." This, along with chronic over-exercising, under-eating, and poor gut health, caused my metabolism to be shot down. I was anxious with symptoms like brain fog, major nervous system dysregulation, hair loss, acne, and syncope episodes because of the blood sugar rollercoaster that I was on. 

Luckily, with time spent doing research, working on my gut health, balancing my blood sugar, obtaining my dietitian license, and even working as a personal trainer, I have been able to not only heal my anxiety and other metabolic symptoms -- but I have been able to do this naturally -- without birth control, a fad diet, pills, or any other unnatural form of "self-help" the media offers us.
